[SYNOPSIS]

Daniel Silver uses sculpture to examine the human experience, both physical and psychological. His practice is influenced by the art of the ancient world, modernism and Sigmund Freud.

For Award 2025, Daniel created a series of ceramic heads painted with oil paint. The clay provides a natural foundation and structure, while the paint acts as a 'skin', introducing movement and depth. The works are built in families — each piece developing in relationship to the ones placed beside it, existing in what Daniel calls a sculptural language.
